In short: We want everyone to be able to use AccessibilityClinic.org. If something on this site does not work for you, tell us and we will fix it or get you the information another way.
AccessibilityClinic.org is the website of The Accessibility Clinic® Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Because our work is about access, we hold this site to the same standard we recommend to others. This page explains what we aim for, what we have done, where the site still falls short, and how to tell us about a problem.
We aim for this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. WCAG is the international standard for accessible web content, and Level AA is the level most laws and policies refer to. We review new and updated pages for heading structure, link wording, color contrast, and keyboard access.
Most pages use a clear heading structure, so people who use screen readers can move through them section by section. We are correcting pages where heading levels are skipped. Most links describe where they lead instead of saying "click here." We are working on a few icon links in the site footer that are announced only as "Link." The page text and buttons we have checked meet WCAG AA color contrast. We break long passages into shorter paragraphs where we can. We are working to make sure the site can be used with a keyboard alone and with screen magnification, and we welcome reports of anything that does not work that way.
This site is built with Google Sites. Some parts of each page, such as the navigation menu, search, and some built-in controls, are provided by Google, and we cannot change how they work. Links to other organizations' websites lead to content we do not control. Some pages, such as our legal and policy pages, are written above a plain-language reading level. We are working to simplify them.
If you have trouble reading or using any part of this site, email info@accessibilityclinic.org. Please tell us the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and the device or assistive technology you were using, if any. If you need information from this site in another format, such as large print or a phone call, let us know and we will work with you to provide it.
